Lady Pace Vikings finish their season on the road clashing with Mercedes Lady Tigers

MERCEDES -- The Lady Vikings clashed with the Lady Tigers on the basketball court Tuesday night. It was a hard fought match, but the Vikings were handed a 29-36 loss by the Tigers.
The Lady Vikings fell behind in the first half, but were able to make a surge in the second half out scoring the Lady Tigers in the fourth quarter by a single bucket. They traded shot for shot in the third quarter, but were outscored by one point. The Lady Tigers had already done enough damage in the first half out scoring the Lady Vikings 19-8.
In the second quarter Lady Tigers' leading scorer Leah Adame was sidelined with an injury after stepping on her defender's foot and rolling her ankle attempting a jumping pass.
Scoring for the Lady Vikings were Andie Lozano-Lomeli, 6; Sarah Garcia, 6; Andrea Salgado, 2; Kayka Cavazos, 11; Risa Trevino, 2.
The Lady Vikings finished their season (8-28), (5-14). They defeated hometown District rival Brownsville Porter and Donna North twice. In non-district action the Lady Vikings defeated, La Villa, ValleyView and Juarez-Lincoln.
